ACCUREX INTRODUCES NEW CROSSOVER EXHAUST HOOD: OFFERING ENHANCED AIRFLOW EFFICIENCY AND DESIGN VERSATILITY FOR DIVERSE COMMERCIAL KITCHEN APPLICATIONS
Schofield, Wisconsin (August 2023) – Accurex, a leader in commercial kitchen ventilation system solutions, has engineered a new Type 1 exhaust hood to meet the needs customers such as small restaurants, quick-service restaurants, and concessions. This crossover hood is a perfect complement to Accurex’s comprehensive exhaust hood lineup that is designed to combine the flexibility and functionality of both larger wall canopy hoods and smaller backshelf hoods with additional advantages in size and performance.
The new crossover hood is ideal for smaller kitchen spaces with potentially lower ceilings and limited room for a wall canopy hood, but also utilizing appliances that may not perform ideally underneath a backshelf hood. While this new hood style is intended to be mounted further away from appliances, Accurex engineered the crossover hood to help reduce the amount of space used in the kitchen while keeping airflow rates low. The hood width options allow for globe or recessed LED lights and mounting of the Accurex Kitchen Controls touch screen.
In addition, the Accurex crossover hood includes other distinctive design elements. It features a standard bottom hood width to allow use of end skirts and its tapered sides with a cutaway front provides greater space between appliances for cooking flexibility. Depending on the application requirements, the crossover hood can be installed using either of two methods, ceiling hung or the new wall mount option that allows for the hood to be installed without hanger rod. Three crossover models are available – XBEC, XXEC, and XGEC – with varying levels of filtration to meet individual customer needs. Accurex provides a full line of filters that accommodate light to extra-heavy grease applications including the Grease-X-Tractor™ filter and the industry-leading Grease Grabber™ Dual Stage Filtration System for increased efficiency and cost savings.
“With many commercial kitchens, space, cost, and energy savings are major concerns. Our crossover hood design addresses each of these challenges,” explains Steve Carrico, Product Manager at Accurex. “It provides a smaller overall footprint and lower upfront cost than a wall canopy hood, and it offers a reduced exhaust airflow rate than typical backshelf-style hoods. Our new crossover hood will bring added value and efficiency to your operation.”
